Mobility and Climate Change

90-minute workshop: Maximum of 30 participants, minimum age 15 years

In this workshop, participants interactively get to know the impact of different ways of travelling on our climate and what else could matter while planning a trip.

After an introduction to climate change, the workshop focuses on the aspects of "mobility and climate change". Approximately 75% of all greenhouse gases caused by tourism are produced during the journey to the holiday destination and afterwards, when we go back home. During this workshop, the aim is to understand the impact of different means of transport on the climate and how they contribute to climate change. But we also deal with other advantages and disadvantages of different means of transport. The focus is on time, costs, flexibility and convenience. Meanwhile, the participants research in teams how to go to Paris by bus, train, plane and car. After this group work, teams compete which way of travelling is overall the best. That way, they learn about all their pros and cons.
