Carbon Footprint and Offsetting
90-minute workshop: Maximum of 30 participants, minimum age 15 years
This workshop provides an engaging introduction to the carbon footprint, including how much CO₂ we produce on average per person in our country, how this compares to other countries, and how it all impacts the global climate. Participants explore key contributors such as housing, mobility, consumption, and energy. If there is enough time, the participants can also calculate their own carbon footprint. The workshop ends with a brainstorming session on practical actions to reduce emissions, both at an individual level and through political engagement. For example, avoiding air travel is particularly effective because flying generates a lot of emissions in a very short time. After learning about the concept of offsetting, participants discuss the pros and cons of offsetting programmes.
This workshop is still in the testing phase. The free material for this workshop will be available soon. Stay tuned—we will inform you as soon as it becomes available.
